The Music Together^® Babies class, for families with infants from birth through 8 months at the semester start, is a one-time introduction to Music Together and to early childhood music development. After this one semester, the family enrolls in a mixed-age class. The music activities in a Babies class are specifically designed to teach parents how to support music development in infancy and how to connect with their infants through music, using concepts like “purposeful touch,” “sound layering,” and “dancing for baby.” Babies classes use the same collection as mixed-age and Big Kids classes, enabling a seamless transition for families and teachers between class programs. Babies classes allow us the opportunity to honor each child’s musical birthright by supporting music development in infancy. Because of this, these children receive earlier musical support which helps them develop and grow into confident music-makers.

Also how to connect with their little ones during the different stages of their first year, through music, using concepts like “purposeful touch,” “sound layering,” and “dancing for baby.” Babies classes use the same collection as mixed-age and Big Kids classes, enabling a seamless transition for families and teachers between class programs. Babies classes allow us the opportunity to honor each child’s musical birthright by supporting music development during their first year. Because of this, these children receive earlier musical support which helps them develop and grow into confident music-makers.

This class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Any caregivers—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the children. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience.

Rhythm Kids^® Level 2 Ages 5-8 

Rhythm Kids^®® Level 2 is an exciting music, movement, and drumming class for children in Kindergarten through second grade (ages 5 through 8). Children integrate and assimilate rhythm into their lives, as they:

•  learn multicultural drumming patterns; 


•  develop new repertoire on various percussion instruments; 


•  explore movement and dance while singing songs; 


•  play games based on music and drumming;


•  have fun with a host of rhythm activities. 
Rhythm Kids^®® follows through on the Music Together® vision to help children complete the pathway of early childhood music development from birth through age 8. As part of the Rhythm Kids^®® experience, children and their grownups can enjoy drumming play and practice sessions at home with the help of online play-along videos featuring Rhythm Kids^®® creator Tom Foote. 
Classes are for children K–2 (ages 5 through 8) and include: 


•  Weekly, 45-minute classes 


•  Animal-ThemedCollection Songbook and CD (as well as digital download) each semester 


•  Access to online video tutorials and play-alongs 
Children will: 


•  Learn, create, discover and explore music, movement and drumming 


•  Enjoy age-appropriate ways to play rhythm instruments (shakers, tambourines, etc.) 


•  Explore traditional drumming patterns through animal names and movements 


•  Experience drumming, song, and dance from around the world (Mali, Puerto Rico, 
Turkey, etc.) 


•  Find new ways to connect mind, body, and voice through rhythm 


•  Develop skill in improvising, soloing, conducting, composition, and improvisation 


•  Participate in active musical games that are both enriching and totally fun!

All families with children ages 0-5 are invited to join us in celebrating the season of LOVE at Soulshine! Enjoy a themed photo ops, singing, dancing, playing and jamming along to songs celebrating the joy of Valentine's Day! $30 for the first child, additional siblings $15. Infant siblings under 8 months are always free.

This class is the stepping stone for children who have attended our Mixed Ages classes for many years and are ready to take their music learning to the next level! In this parent/child class adults are still in the circle and participating with their children as our little music makers take more solos, opportunity for self expression and creativity as well as working together in a group of peers. The Rhythm Kids^® music includes traditionals, mixed ages songs, as well as world cultural experiences of many rhythms and tonalities!

Mixed Ages 0- 2 years-  This class is perfect for our little ones that are ready to start moving but not ready to be with the big kids yet.  This class will follow the same lesson plan/ curriculum as our Mixed Ages classes.  Registration is for little ones upto the age of 2.

Big Kids Only! Ages 4-8 are invited to join us for a night of big kid fun while their parents get a break! We'll have pizza, dance parties, make a craft and enjoy a full big kids music class.
